A slight jump

I have decided not to bother trying to think back to the begining of my training and try and write blogs from there so instead im going to write them as they happen after every flight. So tonight im preparing for my first solo nav. My instructor has decided that we are going to do a short nav together first, around 40nm in total over 3 legs. If this goes well he will then let me have a break and plan the same flight again and i will go up and fly it my self. I can honestly say that i cant wait for it tomorrow and all i can say is that i hope the weather holds up, and i do good on my dual as im loving the solo time. However there will be more on that tomorrow after the flight if all goes well.

The First Hour

Even though its been a while since i had my first lesson, i hope i can still tell you about what you can expect on the day. When you book your first lesson you will usually have to wait a few days to actually fly it. These few days may well feel like the longest days of your life. However once the time comes for you to fly you will realise its all been worth it. After an introduction with the instructor with who you will be flying, you will be briefed on what to expect on your first flight.

After the brief you will join the instructor in checking out the aircraft where they will explain some emergency procedures to you. Dont be frightened by this is just a precaution, however do pay attention to it.

On the actual flight the instructor will get you airborne and settled at the cruise altitude, where you will be able to experience the control of the aircraft for your self.

Depending on weather you have half an hour trial lesson or an hour trial lesson you may get to enjoy some local sights before coming back to land.

After you have landed the instructor will de brief you on the flight and you can ask any questions you may have. Its at this point that you will know weather this is something you want to do or not. If it is you can speak to the instructor about getting the books you need and booking up more lessons for the future.

Either way your first lesson will be one you will not forget in a hurry!

An Introduction

Blogging. Hmmm. Well i thought id give it a go. A blog all about aviation the journey that i find my self on from zero hours to frozen ATPL, but more of that in posts to come. However as things stand im on around 30 hours all in a PA-28, currently doing my navigation and getting ready for my cross country. Very exciting stuff. However i also have 6 more ground exams to do. I know what your thinking, why have i left it so late, but last few months have been mental as far as time goes and iv had very little time to fly and especially to study for exams. But now that things are back to normal at work i can catch up with the ground exams and try and finish my PPL this summer.
Anyways more information about me and my progress to follow soon.

Thank You
